Manchester City face the prospect of losing out on two of their major summer transfer targets this summer. The Blues have identified Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba and Wolfsburg winger Kevin De Bruyne as two players they are determined to bring to the Etihad Stadium.
The former Premier League champions, who ended last season empty-handed, could now miss out on both - leaving their summer rebuild in disarray. Manchester City have already had two bids for Raheem Sterling rejected by Liverpool, who want £50million for the England star – increasing the pressure on them to land their other key targets.
Manuel Pellegrini has been kept on as manager, principally because Pep Guardiola decided to stay as Bayern Munich coach for next season.
