Virgin American Airline Has Introduced a Very Fast Wifi Connection

Compared to your Internet access at home, Most in-flight WiFi feels downright sluggish in bandwidth transmission. however,Virgin America passengers will soon be enjoying speeds that are up to 10 times faster than other airlines. Yes, it’s fast enough to stream a video from YouTube Or Netflix, or Hulu, or any other video service. It’ll be up and running on U.S. flights starting in September of this year, and it won’t cost you a thing to use. Once the service has proven itself in the air and the beta period is declared over, Virgin will begin charging.

Virgin’s speedy new in-flight WiFi service is made possible by ViaSat, who also provide Internet access on JetBlue and United flights. They’ve come up with a new hybrid KA/KU band receiver and antenna that allow for the improved speeds — and also increases coverage.
